There are very few people on earth that jump out of bed to deliver negative feedback to their team. Jamie Fitzgerald, World Record-Breaking Adventurer and International Consultant, Inspiring Performance

Jamie Fitzgerald, first ever Kiwi to reach the South Pole unsupported on foot with fellow adventurer Kevin Biggar, is ultimately one of the most sought after speakers throughout New Zealand. Recently he was Project Team Leader and managed the design and delivery of training to Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteers around New Zealand. This was a programme for 6000+ people aimed at helping the country host a ‘uniquely New Zealand’ customer experience.
 
Jamie also holds the world record for crossing the 5000km Atlantic Ocean in a tiny row boat, he has owned his own business, captained rowing crews versus Cambridge and Oxford Universities during his management degrees, and has also been a bank manager. Jamie’s professional career has included marketing, financial, agricultural, horticultural, building, and education sectors. With real life experiences in both the business and adventure world, Jamie has become a practical and engaging speaker with a passion for getting the best out of those he works with.
 
In recent years, Jamie has worked with a consultancy working internationally, focusing in the following areas:
       Strategy implementation and change management;
       Leadership development and executive coaching;
       Branded customer service and training initiatives;
       Instructional design, facilitation and adult learning; and,
       Program development and large-group events.
 
Jamie has worked around the world as a facilitator and conference speaker, focusing on themes including goal setting and strategy creation, cultural alignment, performance, and organisation development. In short, Jamie’s inspirational attitude and his performance-based messages are changing peoples lives.
 
Jamie’s leadership and performance-oriented personality has helped thousands of people reach their potential. One of Jamie’s favorite campaigns (‘The Big Walk’) included hundreds of young Kiwis having adventurous, learning-based experiences throughout New Zealand. The campaign ended with participants, Ministers and CEOs spending two days helping create a strategy to combat New Zealand’s negative youth statistics. Combined with his professional background, Jamie’s ability to translate strategic thinking and tactical planning, into practical steps is very hard to beat.
 
 
Jamie will draw on his experience from not only his record-breaking adventures from around the globe but also his recent project management work for Rugby World Cup, training over 6000 volunteers for the massive event, and also his international consultancy work to support the theory he will share.
 
As one of New Zealand’s top keynote speakers and facilitators, Jamie has gained a reputation for understanding the key principles of effective project management (including PRINCE2), as well as the ‘softskills’ of leadership development, culture change and organisational development.
 
The session will include anecdotal examples, frameworks related to how he has managed the governance, delivery and analysis of his campaigns, and he will share tips that can be applied by delegates after they leave the conference.
